MY KIDS EXPERIENCING FREEDOM
"As a parent, watching your child suffer is truly just the hardest thing ever, especially when there is nothing you can do to make it better. My 9-year-old son Kadin had been battling some fairly significant mental health issues for a few years and they were really rapidly escalating as he entered the 3rd grade. Notes were coming home from school, his once impressive grades were declining, he had no friends at school due to his struggles with social skills. He knew he was having a hard time, he knew he was “different”, but he didn’t know why. He cried a lot. He said things like he didn’t like himself and he had no worth or purpose in this life. It was obvious to me that he was depressed. Therapy was good for him but it wasn’t solving the problem. Doctors diagnosed him with depression and ADHD, tossed him on meds (which caused a massive amount of side effects that they then had to prescribe other meds for). They then began suggesting we test Kadin for Asperger’s syndrome. I was overwhelmed and nothing seemed to work. Anytime one medication would start to seem to help with one issue it would also cause another and even the positive results were short lived so we found ourselves in a state of constantly having to re-evaluate and often increase doses.
I knew going into this I’d probably be told that medication was the answer and I was really bothered by that because I have never been a fan of the idea of pumping all those drugs into my young child but I was at a point where I just wanted him better and happy and I was willing to try anything. Then I learned about the body’s ability to heal itself and that this included mental health. After just a month of Chiropractic we were seeing results and we began stepping Kadin down off his meds. We were able to take him off all his medication and he is doing so well. I met with his teachers and they told me that he is doing better than ever, his grades are up, he is following directions, he is even making friends. After they told me all this they said “I guess the medication is working." They were surprised to learn that he was not on any. I feel like the clouds over him are lifting and he improves with every week. I feel like I have my best friend back, he’s the loving little guy he was before things got hard for him. I’m so proud of him and we are so grateful for Chiropractic."
ARTHRITIS PAIN ALLEVIATED
"For the last 15 years, I have had issues with mobility and pain due to arthritis in my spine. In the past, I have had 2 spinal fusions, and they did improve my symptoms. But after a fall last May, my symptoms returned, and I was increasingly limited in my activities and walking. Then in September, I became allergic to sulfa, which is a part of Celebrex (my mainstay pain relief medication). Soon after, I decided to explore treatment by a chiropractor. With several recommendations in hand, it seemed that I hesitated, day by day, in calling for an appointment. I guess it would be correct to say, “fear of the unknown” was upon me. But when encountering a good friend, who observed and mentioned my poor walking, I heard her recommendation for Chiropractic, and immediately drove to the office to inquire about treatment. With each treatment my walking and pain level have improved greatly. I am very grateful for Chiropractic as I try to keep up with my grandchildren and stay as active as possible."
TODDLER - GROWING WITHOUT FEEDING TUBE!
"The doctor wanted Camryn to see a GI doctor because she was falling off the growth chart. We went to see them and after several blood tests and visits later they wanted me to put her on a feeding tube for 6 months and they just didn’t think me nursing was giving her what she needed. I told them I really didn’t want to do that and asked if there are any other options. They told me they wanted to see if she would take a “gross tasting” formula but I had to completely stop nursing for her to take it. They gave me a formula that was for babies who couldn’t tolerate normal formula because they said she was allergic to something. They told me if she didn’t, I needed to come back immediately and get a feeding tube because I was putting her brain development at risk.
I left there so confused and scared if I was making the right decision. All parents know that feeling at some time or another. She wouldn’t take a bottle for anything. She screamed and she desperately wanted to nurse. I couldn’t NOT feed her when she was underweight as it was. I just cried and had to nurse her. I knew that having a feeding tube wasn’t the best for her. I ran into a lady at the store and we started talking and she asked me if I had ever thought of Chiropractic care. She made me want to learn more about it so I made an appointment immediately. Seriously amazing results! I then started care for me and for my kids. Camryn was eating like crazy and digesting properly. While she is still small, the doctors say she is maintaining her weight and is healthy as can be!"
HEALING FROM A CAR ACCIDENT
"On June 24, 2008 at 20 years of age I was in a terrible car accident. I broke and fractured 13 bones throughout my body lost the use of my right hand completely and I was in a coma for 10 days. I was in two different hospitals for a total of two months. I was right hand dominant but now I am fully functioning left-handed. My immediate recovery was not the hardest part however. The hardest part of all of this is the long-term effects, The constant doctor’s appointments, the hundreds of different tests and medications to “solve” my pain problems. Needless to say I have spent thousands of dollars just trying to feel better and “normal”. My pain and medications are always on my mind. I quickly became addicted to my pain medications because most doctors’ I visited saw my trauma and threw medicine at me. This is no reflection of poor doctors, this is the normal solution to constant pain issues. I have tried every remedy and gimmick possible to ease my constant neck, back, shoulder, knee and hip pain.
At this point in my life I was willing to try anything that does not include surgery or medications. I began Chiropractic and saw instant results. It has been a short journey thus far but I am now 100% off of narcotic pain medications that I had been taking for 7.5 years! I am more active and my body is on the path to a healthy life. I still have a long way to go but my results are undeniable. If you or someone you know is living a life of pain and have lost hope that anything will help then please give Chiropractic a chance. It has begun shaping me to have a pain free life and even the hope of a healthy, less painful pregnancy at some point in the future!"
TMJ AND HEADACHES GONE
"Chiropractic changed my life. I suffered from bad TMJ (painful jaw pain) that was giving me at least 3 headaches a week and lots of neck and shoulder pain. I just did not feel healthy and I was willing to try anything when I came. I made a commitment to stick to the treatment plan they made for me and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I started feeling better after the first treatment. My body has felt so much more relaxed which has made me sleep better and I have had almost no symptoms from my TMJ including the headaches. My immune system feels so strong and I just feel so healthy! I also had hereditary high cholesterol when I started. I was shocked with this because I maintain a pretty healthy diet. My doctor had given me 6 months to lower it before he would make me go on medication. My cholesterol has gone down 40 points so no medication!! I know it was my treatments because I did not have to change my diet much because it was already healthy. I could go on and on about Chiropractic and the benefits. I do not ever want to go back to feeling like I did so I will be a patient for life!"
OFF OF ANXIETY MEDS!
"I started Chiropractic because I have had shoulder and neck pain for 20 years. I struggle with headaches and migraines as well. I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember but was not diagnosed until I was 24. I have been on medication for 20 years. After starting Chiropractic, I have gone completely off my medication and have been off of it for a year now. My neck and shoulder pain is so much better and so are my headaches. So if you have pain or take medication on a regular basis, I highly recommend that you go!"
